Holiday Lighting Contest underway

Entries are now being accepted for the annual Holiday Lighting Contest, sponsored by the Chamber and Otter Tail Power Company. Residential winners will be selected in three major categories: Best Traditional Display, Most Creative Design, and Best Overall Display. The winner in each of these categories will receive a special hand-carved trophy, valued at over $100, and a lighted yard sign. The judges may also choose to award additional prizes of $25 in Chamber bucks for Best Lighted Tree, Best Nativity Scene, or other special displays.
The competition is open to Crookston residents and those residing within a ten-mile radius of the city. An entry form was printed in the Nov. 24 Valley Shopper, or one may be picked up at the Chamber office or the Crookston Daily Times. Entries must be received by Dec. 8. Judging will take place the week of Dec. 11.
Businesses will automatically be entered in the Commercial Division, with recognition given to the Best Decorated Business.
