Republic Services said it sold its Living Earth Technology Co. business in Texas to a private investment firm for about $37 million.
The Fort Lauderdale-based solid waste collection, transfer and disposal services firm said Living Earth Technology provides compost, mulch and soil and other landscape materials to retailers, landscaping contractors and nurseries. It has average annual revenue of about $50 million.
Dallas-based Hunt Special Situations Group was the buyer.
Republic Services shares closed at $31.92. The 52-week high was $35 on Nov. 8. The 52-week low was $26.22 on March 14.
